There will be a tasting of estate wines and an afternoon free to explore the local villages at leisure. There is also the option of further wine exploration or a visit to the marvellous Cite de Chocolat.

*Dinner free to enjoy your choice of local recommended restaurants

We continue to Valence, where we will have free time for lunch and a leisurely wander of Valence’s magnificent historical centre. We head to Provence in the afternoon to the famous village of Saint Remy-de-Provence, our home for the next 5 nights.

Relax and unwind with an aperitif at our hotel before dinner in a wonderful local restaurant.

Wine highlights

  • In the evening we will be in Provence perhaps tasting our first local Rosé!

We visit a top producer of Châteauneuf-du-Papes for a guided tour and tasting. We continue to the village for a  lovely lunch in a special venue.

That afternoon we head to Avignon, and are free to explore. Perhaps the famous Palais des Papes, the Pont d’Avignon, historic sites or Inter-Rhone, the Rhone Valley wine centre. Or sit and enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace contemplating the history surrounding you.

Today we head to Cassis & the sea for a morning cruise around the Calanques in the blissful Mediterranean sunshine. Following is free time to enjoy one of the local cafes and explore the colourful fishing & wine producing village of Cassis.

I thought I knew about wine, but have enjoyed and learnt so much more from the tastings of FWS. A great mix of education and fun!

The whole tour was very well organised, with daily winery tours & restaurants; everything went seamlessly. Our hotel was beautiful and enjoyed our guided wine tastings at Cave de Tain and Cornas. I have already spoken with friends about our wonderful time in this wine region. Thank you Brigid for organising for us!

Really enjoyed the virtual tasting. It was a good introduction to wines I haven’t had before. Great selection of wines. The background information was good for providing context to enhance the tasting. Looking forward to the next one.
